Shiba Inu: How High Can SHIB Go If 50% Tokens Are Burnt?

Image
Shiba Inu (SHIB) has come a long way since its launch in August 2020. The asset’s price rallied by many million percent during the 2021 bull run. Early investors made massive gains, reaping millions of dollars in profit. Since its 2021 peak, SHIB has faced significant hurdles. The asset is down by more than 84% from its all-time high of $0.00008616, which it attained in October 2021. Although the memecoin has climbed the market cap charts over the last few months, its price continues to struggle. Source – Token Metrics One of the most significant catalysts for Shiba Inu’s (SHIB) incredible run in 2021 was Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin‘s massive token burn. Although Buterin received half of SHIB’s supply upon launch, he decided to burn 90% of the tokens he received while donating the rest to charity. His actions led to a significant drop in the project...

Former advisor Steven Nerayoff hypes Ethereum scandal exposé

Ethereum whistleblowers Steven Nerayoff and TruthLabs have alleged numerous incidents of misconduct by early Ethereum insiders, with Nerayoff currently teasing the release of apparently never-before-heard audio recordings of Vitalik Buterin. Nerayoff is promising to reveal scandalous evidence that he believes proves that Buterin copied his idea of issuing utility tokens via ICOs. He is also threatening to sue over his supposed invention. Of course, fraud by third-party creators who simply used the Ethereum platform to create scam tokens or NFTs is nothing new. Many Ethereum ICO fundraisers during the 2017-2018 craze turned out to be doomed. Indeed, most ICOs have fallen to near-$0. Similarly, most NFTs are now worthless. Ethereum insiders, however, are not responsible for those scams. What is new, however, is the fact that Steven Nerayoff and an unrelated researcher, TruthLabs, have both alleged misconduct by Ethereum founders and their allies and want to release the supposedly ...

Vitalik Buterin publishes article discussing dimensions of connectedness to Ethereum

Image
On Oct. 31, the Ethereum co-founder released an article highlighting the dimension s of connectedness to the blockchain network as being the security of withdrawing to Ethereum and security of reading Ethereum. Buterin also notes a trend in Layer 2 projects becoming more heterogeneous and how this raises the question of the complicated tradeoffs applications are having to make. For some, connectedness is important Buterin shares that for some projects, high security and tight connectedness are important. While for others, something looser is acceptable in exchange for greater scalability.  The report goes on to state that two crucial dimension s make up this connectedness , with the first being the security of withdrawing to Ethereum, encompassing the security aspects related to transferring assets back to the Ethereum blockchain. Evaluation is then based on two perspectives: the level of security provided and the extent to which different users or use cases can access ...

Thanks to Ethereum, 'altcoin' is no longer a slur

Thanks to Ethereum removing the stigma associated with “altcoins,” more projects have the opportunity to prove their name doesn’t matter. Altcoin originally meant “Bitcoin alternative” because, in the early stages of cryptocurrency development, every blockchain-based currency was seen as a sort of Bitcoin (BTC) knockoff. Cryptocurrencies back then were mainly used for payments, such as Litecoin (LTC), XRP (XRP) and Peercoin (PPC). Altcoin was used as a catchall term for cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin.  That’s changed since 2011. With the emergence of more than 20,000 cryptocurrencies, each linked to different types of crypto projects and tokens. We have also seen the dexterity of coins stretch across sectors of public chains, decentralized finance (DeFi), layer 2, decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), stablecoins and more. If “altcoin” refers to non-Bitcoin cryptocurrencies with the same characteristics as Bitcoin, this definition certainly no longer suits all 20,000. Th...

Is Ethereum's Vitalik Buterin the Man Behind 40,000 Ether Transfer?

Image
The whales have been dabbling with Ether eum lately. 3000 ETH , worth $3.75 million, were traded over the last weekend. Many initially believed that the sale was initiated by Vitalik Buterin , the co-founder of Ether eum. After FTX and its affiliates filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in the US, the sale was made shortly after. Since the wallet frequently received transactions from a doxxed address associated with the programmer, many people suspected Buterin. To add to the chaos, the FTX hacker drained 400 billion SHIB and swapped them for ETH. The hacker was also seen dumping them and earning the spot as one of the largest ETH holders. In the most recent revelations, a 40,000 ETH transfer points the finger toward Vitalik Buterin. Is he really behind it? Was the 40,000 Ethereum movement an internal transfer? As per the details from Etherscan, a user (Vb3) moved 40,000 ETH from one wallet to another. The transfer had occurred an hour and 45 minutes before press time. T...

MakerDAO Allots $500M for Treasuries & Bonds

In June, the governance community of MakerDAO, the issuer of the DAI stablecoin, issued a vote on whether to allocate $500 million for investments in US short-term treasuries and corporate bonds. The vote concluded with a majority of members voting in favor of the investment. The investment will be converted from the DAO’s (decentralized autonomous organization) overcollateralized DAI stablecoin . A majority of the funds (80%) would towards U.S. short-term Treasuries, while the remaining (20%) would go towards corporate bonds. Why is the stablecoin issuer investing in bonds & treasuries? The move is an attempt to diversify MakerDAO’s holdings. The investment will be initiated by decentralized finance (DeFi) asset advisor Monetalis. Moreover, it has come to light that digital asset bank Sygnum, would be the lead partner in the move. The bank has revealed that it is working with BlackRock Switzerland to allot $250 million in the first wave. Additionally, t...
