Ethereum Starts 2025 With More Wallets Than Bitcoin

2024 was a prominent year for the world’s largest cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC). The asset managed to move beyond the coveted $100,000 mark. Sky Mavis co-founder’s wallets hit in $9.7M ETH exploit

Jeffrey Zirlin said the hack compromised two of his personal wallets. The breach reportedly did not impact Ronin chain’s validation or operational aspects. Jeffrey Zirlin, co -founder of Sky Mavis, has confirmed that a hacker has compromised two of his personal wallets . Data shared by blockchain security firm PeckShield shows that the hacker stole approximately 3,248 Ether, worth about $9.7 million. The attacker withdrew the loot from the Ronin Bridge, with transfers made to the Crypto mixing platform Tornado Cash. Blockdaemon integrates LayerZero to bring cross-chain capabilities to self-custodial wallet

Blockdaemon will integrate the cross-chain messaging capabilities of LayerZero into its self-custodial wallet. The partnership further enhances LayerZero’s security, Ryan Zarick, CTO of LayerZero Labs said. Blockchain infrastructure firm Blockdaemon is partnering with LayerZero Labs, the developer behind omnichain interoperability protocol LayerZero, to add cross-chain capabilities to its self -custodial wallet . Blockdaemon to also operate a DVN on LayerZero According to an announcement, the partnership with LayerZero Labs also sees Blockdaemon become the blockchain messaging protocol’s infrastructure provider. Arbitrum airdrop sees 1,500 addresses consolidate $3.3M into two wallets

One wallet received $2 million in ARB while another collected around $1.38 million worth of tokens. As the hype surrounding the Arbitrum (ARB) airdrop continues, on-chain activity shows that airdrop hunters consolidated tokens worth around $3.3 million collectively from 1,496 wallet s into two wallet s. According to the blockchain analysis platform Lookonchain, one wallet received 1.4 million ARB from 866 addresses. The account then added all the ARB received to the decentralized exchange Uniswap to provide liquidity. The 1.4 million ARB tokens are worth around $2 million at the time of writing. On the other hand, another wallet received 933,375 ARB, which is worth around $1.38 million, from 630 addresses. FTX Stolen Funds moved as $200M ETH split across 12 wallets

The impact of FTX’s collapse was much bigger than expected. The hack that followed suit disrupted the market as well. While the details behind the hack remain uncertain, the stolen funds were being moved. Over the last couple of days, huge amounts of funds from the stolen $447 million were on the move. Further persisting this pattern, the hacker went on to move some more funds. As per recent data from Etherscan, within a period of 4:11 to 4:17 PM UTC a whopping 180,000 ETH was moved. The hacker split this across 12 wallets that were newly created. Each of these wallets received a total of 15,000 ETH. Source As seen in the above image, all the wallets entailed a total amount of $199.3 million together. This move certainly seemed to have confused the entire ecosystem. Several were speculating that the FTX hacker was trying to confuse the investigators that were overseeing the hack.
